- What
is the DPSI?
The Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
provides evidence of the ability to interpret between providers
and users of the public services who do not share a common language.
The DPSI diploma is granted by the Institute of Linguists (IoL)
London.

- Legal : Scottish-French Law
- Health
- Local Government Services, including
social services, housing, welfare and education Social Services
and Government services.
- What does the examination
consists of?
The format of the examination is as follows:
Oral Tasks
- Task 1A - Consecutive & Simultaneous
interpreting task into English. (15 min)
- Task 1B - Consecutive & Simultaneous
interpreting task from English.(15 min)
- Task 2A - Oral sight translation from English
(10 min.-5 min to study text of 180 words approx, and 5 min. to
deliver)
- Task 2B - Oral sight translation from
English (time as above)
Written Tasks
- Task 3A - Translation into English (1 Hour)
- Task 3B - Translation from English (1 Hour)
